Vlad's Dog recently published an article on the nature of art that inspired me to share this series of art pieces with you. Vlad's article talks about art as a form of communication with the artist's perception of reality as the conduit for that communication. As I was thinking about that, it occurred to me that much of my artistic energy this past week involved the manipulation of one particular image -- a tree by the lake -- into multiple visions of reality. I thought I share those with you. Hope you like them!
Vlad's excellent article can be found here.

1. This is the original image taken at Lake Eola here in Orlando.

2. One of my first variations, bumping up the color saturation and adding a slight poster edges effect.

3. One of my favorite versions, abstract and meant to give a sense of the windy conditions by the lake.

4. A mirrored version, cropped square. This image was used in most of the subsequent ones in this series.

5. In a Dark Wood

6. Life in the Bubble - You can see the mirrored tree trunks on either side of the fish.

7. Over the Rainbow - Created for a Flickr group challenge with starter image provided by user plumnutz. Click here for more information.
