1. The focus on this image didn't come out exactly as I wanted it to but I still love the play of light on the bloom.

2. I twisted the camera around until I got this perspective. I wanted it to look like the tree was bending down toward the viewer.

3. A Southern Toad in all its spotty glory.

4. Just some ordinary stuff growing in a drainage ditch but it appealed to me.

5. Looking through the fence. I often wonder why we spend so much time erecting so many fences.

6. This potato vine looks like it is trying to strangle the cross. These vines are very invasive so perhaps it is as aggressive as it looks.

7. Pink bloom with morning dew.

8. Getting ready to open. I love the soft, downy look of the bud and the glimpse into its interior.

9. Yellow blooms with reflected Cypress knees. No art effects applied to this image. The grasses in the water give it a very artsy appearance.

10. One of the flowers in #9 taken from a different (much lower) perspective. Now you can see the Cypress knee rather than its reflection.

11. Taken with an extension tube attached to the lens. The close in detail is quite lovely.

12. Also taken using an extension tube though the focus could be placed better. These red flowers are very tiny.

13. This photo of a spider web just didn't turn out well. Webs, especially webs in the sun, can be difficult to photograph. So I converted this to a simplified silhouette. It is a Spiny Orb Weaver.
I've taken a lot of photos in the last few weeks. Here is an eclectic assortment of images depicting the smaller things, the details that often get missed in the broad view of landscape. I hope you enjoy them!
